Welcome to Maudie Cakes!

Hi! I'm Tanya, the lady behind the cakes. I've been told I should introduce my very introverted self, so - deep breath - here goes!

In early 2020, I took a leap of faith and went from full time stay-at-home mom to full time stay-at-home mom and home baker when I officially opened Maudie Cakes. 

A native Virginian, I am married to my best buddy who graciously puts up with our constantly floured counters, butter just about everywhere, a sink full of pans, and me ... which on any given day, just might be the most challenging of the things to put up with. Thank God for bourbon. 

In addition to running Maudie Cakes, I co-run the lives of four little squishy terrors - Maude (the namesake for Maudie Cakes), Lola, Matthew, and Leo. They are the babies I prayed for my whole life, and often the reason it takes me longer than I'd like to respond to your inquiries. 

I absolutely love bringing your cake dreams to life with beautiful and delicious buttercream cakes, and I am honored that you choose me! Thank you for following along on my cake journey! As always, I can't wait to bake for you!
